Our beginnings...
Beginning in 2016, the DC Asia Policy Network emerged as an informal get together among Asia policy researchers at the Brookings Institution and other think tanks seeking a platform for informal policy discussions and networking. Since its inception, the network has expanded significantly, now boasting a 3,000-member Facebook group and nearly 1,000 subscribers to our newsletter. Today, our monthly happy hour event attracts hundreds of active participants, attesting to the organization's emphasis on community and relationship building.
Highlights
An Evening at the Malaysian Ambassador's Residence
In the summer of 2021, we were fortunate to host our first gathering post pandemic at the residence of the Malaysian Ambassador to the US Azmil Mohd Zabidi. Our ticketed event brought over 100 professionals to enjoy Malaysian snacks and cuisine and meet the senior staff of the Embassy. We are grateful to both the Ambassador and his family and staff for setting up a beautiful event.
